WORK: We are aiming to plant nearly 900 vines in total – 22 rows of 40 vines each. Sounds like a lot but we’ve done this for the past few years and it is quite achievable with enough people.
DATE:
Sunday 25th April
START TIME:
9.45am
FINISH TIME: Depending on how many people can help we might be done by
1pm or later in the afternoon. People can stay as long as they would like to. Any help is most welcome!
PLACE: The field is across the road from, and just below, Westfield Farm (Limeburn Hill, Chew Magna BS40 8QW) . It is on the west side of Limeburn Hill (on the left as you drive up hill). NOTE: the Google Map link below takes you to the opposite side of the road! A sign will be out on the road to mark the field entrance.
PARKING: Drive into the field itself – lots of space to park on the grass.
REFRESHMENTS: Please bring drinks / snacks / lunch for yourself. Usually we would put on a nice lunch to share but this isn’t possible with Covid restrictions. Sorry. If you come and help harvest then we’ll do lunch then!
COVID: Working as an agricultural volunteer is allowed under the current regulations. The rows are 3m apart so social distancing should be no problem.
TOOLS: If you have your own garden fork and spade these would be very helpful. Also a hand trowel too if possible. Gardening gloves would be great if you have them. It will require a bit of kneeling in the soil so work clothes better than evening wear.THANK YOU!
