The Janus Gate

Deer fencing has been a necessity in the vineyard but it can also feel like a barrier to connection. The Janus Gate was a January project, named after the two-headed god of beginnings and endings, doorways and time. The frame was made from leftover bits of wood and metal and the panels were woven with bright cornus and willow. A garland of bay was hung to celebrate the opening of the portal which has reconnected parts of the farm.
